ABSTRACT
The widespread use of imaging has increased the detection of incidental adrenal lesions, most of which are benign and non-functioning adenomas. Discrimination between a benign and malignant adrenal mass significantly impacts treatment and prognosis, especially in oncologic patients. While most adrenal masses have classical imaging findings, there is considerable overlap between benign and malignant lesions; therefore, a thorough understanding of adrenal mass imaging is essential to assist clinicians. The management of these lesions relies on algorithms and multidisciplinary approach, primarily considering findings on dynamic adrenal computed tomography and chemical shift imaging, along with clinical history and symptoms, biochemical workup, and morphological changes of the lesion over time.
