ABSTRACT

Earthquakes and other natural disasters are sudden, unexpected, and devastating events that significantly impact healthcare systems and national economies, both materially and emotionally. In the aftermath of these disasters, radiological examinations play a crucial and critical role in quickly diagnosing and guiding treatment processes. Imaging techniques and the rapid interpretation of acquired images allow for the swift and accurate assessment of injuries, enabling life-saving interventions. This article discusses the role of emergency radiology in earthquakes and natural disasters, the imaging techniques used, the types of injuries encountered, and the organization of mobile radiological systems. Additionally, it explores the preparedness processes for radiologists and future trends in technological innovations in this field.
