ABSTRACT

Functional imaging plays a complementary role to anatomical methods by providing metabolic and secretory information in endocrine organ disorders. Radiopharmaceuticals used for the evaluation of the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors reveal the functional status of lesions, thereby contributing to diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning. Radionuclide imaging supports clinical management, particularly by demonstrating features such as multiglandular involvement, receptor expression, or hormone production capacity.
