    ABSTRACT

Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis or commonly called granulomatous lobular mastitis is a chronic inflammatory benign disease of the breast. Although it is histopathologically benign, it has malignant features in terms of clinical course. It is usually seen in women of reproductive age and in the premenopausal period. It is a group of diseases that can cause diagnostic difficulties and difficulties in managing the process from time to time for physicians dealing with inflammatory pathologies of the breast. It can be confused with malignant diseases of the breast in terms of clinical and radiological findings. Therefore, the diagnosis needs to be confirmed histopathologically. Because it is recurrent and sometimes resistant to treatment, accurate diagnosis, appropriate and adequate treatment are important. There are systemic medical treatments, surgical treatment options and increased in popularity in recent years intralesional local treatment.
