ABSTRACT

Thoracolumbar injuries, which constitute an important subset of spinal injuries, have been evaluated using various classification systems. The most critical parameter for determining prognosis and treatment decisions in these injuries is mechanical stability. Assessing stability requires a comprehensive analysis of bone and ligament integrity as well as neurological status. This review addresses thoracolumbar trauma imaging findings, mimics, reporting methods, and management approaches with reference to the current classification system, the thoracolumbar ınjury classification and severity score.
